As of April 24, 2026, there are a number of important international and regional scholarship opportunities available. A lot of these have deadlines coming up in May and June 2026, so now is the best time to finish your paperwork.
1. The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS)
This program is a great chance for students from Commonwealth countries to get a two-year Master’s degree in a Commonwealth country with a low or middle income.
- • Status: Open right now (it opened on April 9, 2026).
- • Due date: June 3, 2026, at 15:00 UTC.
- • Benefits include full tuition, a living allowance (or stipend), round-trip economy flights, and an arrival allowance.
- Eligible Countries: There are a number of host universities in countries like South Africa, Sri Lanka, Fiji, and others.
- Target: People who want to get a master’s degree and have at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree.
2. GREAT Scholarships 2026 in the UK
The British Council and these scholarships work together to pay for one-year postgraduate courses in the UK for students from certain countries, such as Nigeria, India, Mexico, and Thailand.
- Status: Applications are open (the deadline varies by school).
- Value: At least £10,000 for tuition.
- • Imperial College London, University College London (UCL), the University of Warwick, and other schools are eligible.
- Important: Before you can apply for the GREAT scholarship, you must first apply to a participating university for an eligible course.
3. Scholarships from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI)
The CUI is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship session from international students, with a focus on high-achieving students from developing areas.

- Benefits: partial to full tuition waivers and housing on campus that costs less.
4. International “Niche” Scholarships from Bold.org
There are several “Bold” scholarships with deadlines today and throughout May for students who are already in the U.S. or for international students who want smaller, more specific grants.
- The Justin Moeller Memorial Scholarship supports under-represented IT students (Deadline: May 23, 2026).
- Global Scholar Award: For international students who are working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field (Deadline: June 16, 2026).
- Language/Bilingual Scholarships: These are for students whose first language is not English (deadlines are in May).
5. Deadlines and announcement windows coming up
If you’ve already applied for big government scholarships, pay attention to these 2026 dates:
- Global Professionals from the Swedish Institute (SI): The winners are being announced right now (April 23–25, 2026).
- University of Bristol “Think Big”: The deadline for the 2026 cycle has passed, but the results will be shared in late May 2026.
- Fulbright and Chevening: The main application windows for 2026 and 2027 are now closed, but the first “Intent to Apply” and mentorship programs for 2027 and 2028 usually start opening in June 2026.
