This Week’s Scholarships Are Closing

If you need money right away, a few high-value scholarship windows will close in the next seven days (April 24–April 30, 2026). Most of these are digital submissions, but you need to act quickly to obtain references or final transcripts, especially since application portals tend to slow down at the end of the month.

1. Important Deadlines Today (April 24, 2026)

These applications are in their last hours of the 2026 cycle. Most portals close at 23:59 local time, but some academic portals close as early as 15:00.

  • The TMCF Black & Positively Golden Scholarship from McDonald’s gives $15,000 to students who go to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
  • The Butkus-Sylvester Family Scholarship is a rare full-tuition award for student-athletes and high-achieving students who have done a lot of community service.
  • • The Anthony Muñoz Scholarship Fund gives $20,000 to students who have overcome major personal problems while still doing well in school.
  • The Joseph Shinoda Memorial Scholarship is for students who want to work in the floral or horticulture fields. It can be worth up to $5,000.
  • • The AIANTA Tourism & Hospitality Scholarship gives $2,000 to Native American students who are studying hospitality or tourism.

2. Deadlines on the weekend (April 25–April 27, 2026)

  • • The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship gives $5,000 to students with documented learning disabilities or ADHD who are working towards a two-year community college or vocational degree.
  • • ¡Lánzate! HACU and Southwest Airlines The Travel Award Programme ends on April 26. It gives Hispanic college students who live far away from home travel vouchers to help them visit family during the semester.
  • • The CRA All-Access Scholarship is due on April 27 and gives $5,000 to students who want to work in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

3. The “Big Month-End” Rush on April 30, 2026

April 30th is a very important deadline day in the 2026 scholarship calendar, especially for grants from the government and specific industries.

  • The Spärck AI Scholarship is a prestigious new award from the UK government for international students who want to get a Master’s degree in artificial intelligence, robotics, or cybersecurity. It includes a full tuition waiver and a stipend of about £20,780.
  • Indian Government (ICCR) African Scholarships: 900 fully funded spots are available for African students to study for bachelor’s and master’s degrees at some of India’s best universities.
  • The application period for the 2027 Australia Awards Africa intake ends today. This pays for everything that professionals from eligible African countries need to study for a Master’s degree in Australia.
  • United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) PhD Scholarships: These are fully funded opportunities for international students that pay for tuition and give research-focused candidates a monthly stipend.
  • • Nottingham University Developing Solutions is one of the UK’s most popular awards. It gives 105 full-tuition scholarships to Master’s students from Africa, India, and some Commonwealth countries.
  • The Dr Barbara Ball Public Health Scholarship is for students who want to work in nursing or public health and want to be leaders in community health.
  • The College Board gives out the BigFuture Scholarship, which is $40,000 a month, to high school juniors and seniors who reach certain college planning goals.

4. STEM and International Research Deadlines

  • DAAD In-Country/In-Region (Sub-Saharan Africa): For students in Africa, the most important DAAD deadline is April 29, 2026. This is for Master’s and PhD students who want to study at top African host institutions with full financial support.
  • The Be Bold No-Essay Scholarship is due on April 30. It is worth $25,000 and goes to the student with the most “bold” and complete profile on the Bold.org platform.

5. The Last Hour Plan for 2026

  • Reference Check: If you want to apply for the specialised AI and STEM scholarships that are due on the 30th, send your last reminder emails to your referees today. Most portals will automatically reject applications in 2026 if the recommendation letter is not uploaded by the deadline.
  • Time Zone Warning: Portals for international awards, like the ICCR or Australia Awards, often close at 15:00 UTC or CET. This could be early in the morning for you if you live in the Americas or West Africa.
  • Document Resolution: Make sure that all transcripts and IDs are uploaded as high-quality PDFs. A lot of 2026 portals use automated filters that may flag blurry photos as “unreadable”, which can lead to technical rejections.
