Data Analysts Scholarships

As of April 27, 2026, scholarships for data analysts are focusing on “Responsible AI” and “Predictive Governance”. Most general bursaries for the 2026 intake closed in early April, but the window for specialised tech fellowships and fully funded leadership grants for the late 2026 and 2027 intakes is still open.

Here are the top funding opportunities for data professionals, analysts and researchers.

1. The Google PhD Fellowship Programme for 2026

This is the highest award for graduate students conducting research in fields that are critical to data analysis, including Machine Learning and Algorithms.

• The Award Region specific. Up to $85,000 per year (US/Canada) or significant annual bursaries in other regions for up to two years.
• Status Right Now: Applications Are Open.
• Deadline: 30 April 2026 (3 days left!)
• Research Interests: Data Mining, Machine Learning, Systems and Networking and Quantum Computing.

2. The QS Technology and Innovation Scholarship

A merit-based award for candidates who have a clear vision of how data and tech can solve problems around the world.

• The Prize: A 15% discount on tuition for 30 winners around the world.
• Status Right Now: Applications Are Open.
• Due date: June 29, 2026.
• Requirement: Creative Vision Statement (essay or video) describing how you will use data analytics to drive innovation.
• Strategy: Highlight any experience using data for social impact, sustainability or business efficiency.

3. Erasmus Mundus: Big Data Management & Analytics (BDMA)

A fully funded, highly prestigious Master’s programme taking students to multiple European Universities (e.g. Belgium, France, and Spain).

• The Award: Full tuition waiver, a monthly allowance of €1,400, travel and insurance.
• 2027 Intake Status: The portal for the 2027/28 cycle usually opens in September/October 2026.
• Strong background in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics.

4. Scholarships for Chevening in the UK for 2027/28

The UK’s top “Future Leaders” award. Data analysts often use it to pursue MAs in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or Business Analytics.

• The Award includes full tuition, a monthly living stipend, and return flights.

• A minimum of two years of work experience. Time spent as a junior analyst, data engineer, or researcher counts toward the experience required for analysts.
• Tip: Start looking at UK universities now; you need to get an unconditional offer from a partner school by July 2027.

5. Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) Fellowships

It’s more of a project-based fellowship than a traditional academic scholarship, but it does come with a stipend and world-class training for analysts.

• The Award: Stipend, travel, and housing for a 12-week summer programme.
• 2027 Planning Applications will generally open in January 2027.
• Focus: Using data science to tackle real-world issues for non-profit and government organisations.

6. Data Analysts Essential Strategy 2026

Winning a high-value data grant this year means your application has to move from “Calculations” to “Insights”:

• The “Storytelling” Narrative: Committees in 2026 don’t care so much about your ability to run a regression; they care more about how you communicate results. For example, rather than “I am proficient in R and Python”, say “I developed a dashboard that optimised logistics, saving the organisation 15% in operational costs.”
• Create a “Proof of Concept” Portfolio: QS and Google awards want to see your GitHub, Kaggle project links or a Tableau Public profile. A visual demonstration that you can work with complex datasets is a huge competitive advantage.
